CCC Royal Garland making got underway yesterday in Cornwood Village Hall as we all get ready to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee.
300 purple and white pom poms have been made by our wonderful community to decorate our garlands. Huge shout out to Cornwood WI, Cornwood Cricket Club and Juliette for their bountiful contributions.
They wired and wired and wired from 9.30am to 5.30pm until 5 lengths of Royal Garlands came to life. Amazing! Thank you everyone.
By 5.30pm the Girls were on the road delivering the Royal Garlands to The Cornwood Inn, The Mountain Inn, Cornwood Village Shop, The Church and Cornwood Cricket Club. Watch out for them as you drive around the village.
Thank you to Cornwood Village Hall and the Coffee Stop crew for selling raffle tickets and keeping everyone fed and watered while they made the Royal Garlands.
As we get closer to the Jubilee weekend our garlands will become festooned in purple and white pom poms and beautiful white paper roses.
We had a super day tucked in from the rain making away. See you at Party In The Park on Saturday 4th June at Cornwood Cricket Club.
Thank you to Nicky and Gavin and the team at Delamore for letting us raid their stunning gardens for the greenery for our Royal Garlands
Cornwood Cricket Club are thrilled to be the host for the Platinum Jubilee community tree. A lovely walnut tree will mark the occasion. Come along to its official unveiling on Saturday 4th June.
