On Tuesday 28th July we played Plympton at Plympton on a glorious sunny evening. Oliver Offer won the toss and asked Plympton to bat first. Cornwood bowled tight in the first 4 overs restricting Plympton to 12 runs with Zachary Spencer making his debut taking a wicket with his second ball superbly caught by Oliver Offer. The Cornwood bowling remained tight restricting Plympton’s next pair to 10 runs with William Parson bowling a maiden. Plymptons 3rd pair found Cornwood’s bowling hard to get away, taking 4 wickets in the process with Zachary Spencer finishing with 1 for 5 on his debut. Plympton last pair had no answer to Jude Gregory and Oliver Offers bowling plympton finshing on 214 for 7, this was a great effort by the bowlers with 4 of the team making there debut’s. In reply Cornwood got off to great start with Harvey Smith and Barnaby Hunt adding 30 runs in their 4 overs with Barnaby scoring 17 runs, the next pair of Mason Morris and Jude Gregory adding 16 runs with some great running between the wickets. The third pair of William Parson and Zachary Spencer adding 14 runs, the last pair Noah Garland and Oliver Offer adding 31 runs and not losing a wicket getting Cornwood to 291 for 1.
